Nourish Her Intellect by Jaala Welch

Starve her ego and feed her soul

The soul is what matters as a whole

Instead of complimenting her looks

Trying to steal her heart like a crook

Buy her her favorite book

Nourish her intellect

High school boys have so much to learn

What happened to chivalry?

This is something that is yearned

High school girls want to stand tall

But they only stand as tall as a fern

On a lean, and not as stern

Because their esteem is forever getting wrecked

Boys, please treat them with respect

Nourish her intellect

High school girls go through so much as it is

To treat her right, you do not have to be a math wiz

She is something that you should hold high

Appreciate her, do not make her cry

This message should be of no neglect

Boys, please nourish her intellect

Lady Macbeth by Rachael Radwill

What have I done, what a terrible mistake I have made,

An innocent soul now wonders the earth and I am to blame.

He’s become a demon a monster with blood stained on his hands

I am living a nightmare that seems to have no end.

‘Tis not a dream but a cruel reality,

What started as guilt turned into madness

Macbeth’s sane mind ‘tis gone with the wind.

I cannot run away from a sin so sinister

For I have fallen into a lifelong consequence of darkness

Which I cannot esacape.

I beg and plea for forgivness but there is no answer

The power I once possessed in taken by Macbeth.

I have turned an innocent man into someone not able to be considered human

To which there there is no cure.

Ode to Leo by Andrianna Corbett

O how soft your fur

O how long your whiskers

O how bushy your tail

And your chest so white

And face so black

O how you lick my cheek at night

O how you stare at my fish

O how you prowl on Alistair, the gerbil

O Leo my dearest cat

You are my world, my love, my everything

By Kate Napierkowski

The way the rose petals float through the air,

His message of love towards me is unclear.

Being unsure of how he feels is unfair,

The unknown outcome strikes me with fear.

Fear brings me to a question for myself,

The question is, do I love him or not?

With our memories left on a shelf,

I shouldn’t have to think about his a lot.

We need to love each other without fear.

We need to learn to trust without question.

When we are afraid our love disappears.

Love should remain as the first impression.

With a range from harsh thorns to soft petals,

Love varies ‘cause the heart never settles.

Soon I’ll be Amongst the Stars By Veronica Perpetua

Soon I’ll be amongst the stars,

Flying on a jet plane,

Just to be where you are.

I remember those warm nights,

When the breeze blew through our long hair,

And I cried with all my might

But your shoulder was always there.

I miss you very much,

But soon your hand will be in mine to clutch,

But if ever they should break free,

Please know a thought of you is always with me.

Storm by Alie Schreck

On one sunny day,

It is me and you,

Our love is so bright,

Brighter than the sun,

Nothing can tear us apart

Suddenly,

Lightening appears

A Pain comes across my chest

You begin to treat me like the rest

I am lost,

You are the reason I smile,

I laugh,

You bring me up when I fall down

My head is spinning,

I can’t see straight,

I ask myself,

What did I do to deserve this?

When I look up,

There is nothing left,

Another storm has passed,

What am I left with?

Nothing.

You were my sunshine

That turned into darkness

You were my everything

Who left me with  nothing

The Cracked Mirror by Courtney Beecher

The mirror wasn’t always cracked

At one point it was whole

You can fix it with glue

But it won’t be the same as it was before

It will always have a mark

No matter how hard you try to put it back together

It will always be cracked

It didn’t choose to be this way

It just happened

But the mirror still works

You just have to look beyond the cracks

The Girl by Jennifer Mydosh

No one knows her

But soon you will see

How wonderful this girl can be

Never does she judge

Or attempt to put you down

With her kind words, gone is your frown

Silently watching the world go by

With caring hands, gifts does she supply

And it is she you can depend

To always be your one true friend

The Witches by Emily Fowler

Again comes Macbeth,

Trader he has become since we last saw him,

Ruthless and evil.

Not caring about who or what his actions affect.

His pitilessness has caused him to lose all senses

He has gained on the throne.

All of his respect,

All of his courage,

And all of his bravery

Has now been lost since then.

Now we twist the truth

For him to see what he desires.

Invincibility will be his shield

But also bring him to a close.

His thoughts of our prophecies

Will bring him safety in his wild mind,

Until he realizes the truth

That he is destined to tragedy.

Two hundred ninety five by Eunyee Cho

In April, when the flowers are coming into bloom,

Two hundred ninety five buds are gone before they bloom.

In the afternoon, when the sun hide behind fog in the sky,

Two hundred ninety five angels rose to heaven.

In to the hopeless and cold sea,

Two hundred ninety five hopes for the future sank.

I’m pretty sure that Ferry Company could have saved more,

If they followed the rule properly.

I’m pretty sure that the Captain could have saved more,

If he shouted as “get out” instead of “wait and don’t move.”

I’m pretty sure that the government could have saved more,

If they responded quickly.

I’m pretty sure that God did not want two hundred angels at one time.

Wall by Christiana Ferencz

Started as wood then grew drywall

Paint covers with a story, pink for the little girl blue for the boy

Pictures of memories are seen by all,

A showcase on every wall.

Oh the many events they have seen!

The newly wedded bliss

And each and every kiss.

The little baby born full of happiness and life

A gift from God to a husband and a wife.

The baby soon grew

As the days became new.

First days of school, first report card, first boyfriend

Wall has seen them all, never missing a special event.

Shining still in the background of the photograph

Just as he had years before.

Every argument and trial

A fist flies in denial,

A patchwork soon begins to fill the empty spaces.

Light switches flip on and off,

As the days drag from one into another.

Suddenly smoke fills wall’s sides

A fire has broken out and the family cries,

Once again wall remains wood and burned drywall.

The family refuses a change

They refuse to leave their beloved house.

Men in white come to help poor Wall

Who somehow manages to remain standing tall.

Finally Wall is reborn again!

The same family, the same house, and the same lovely photographs,

For Wall knows that the family truly loves him.

As the husband and wife continue their life

Inside Wall’s loving embrace.
