SHA Signing Day
November 16th, 2022. Sacred Heart Academy National Signing Day. This is the day when the best of the best of Sacred Heart Academy’s senior athletes sign the National Letter of Intent to their respective college athletic programs. Here at SHA, we had 6 of our seniors’ sign on to their future college athletics teams. Charlotte Brown signed to Southern New Hampshire University to play Division 2 lacrosse. Juliana Garcia signed to be a Husky at Northeastern University, playing Division 1 soccer. Maggie Jinks will be rowing for Holy Cross. Emma Kirck has signed to Middlebury University to compete on their basketball team. Kristina Ponzio will be running cross country and track at Merrimack College, and Jillienne Lee signed to Assumption University’s lacrosse team. Competing at the colligate level is an incredible achievement that only 7% of athletes are able and willing to earn. These 6 SHAthletes put countless hours in on the field, on the court, at the track, and even in the weight room. In addition to the immense amount of work put in to become elite at a sport, these girls also were focused on their grades and education. There is a reason only 7 out of every 100 athletes are able to compete collegiately, and it comes down to desire. How much did each girl want it? Between school, homework, and practice, Emma, Juliana, Jillienne, Maggie, Kristina, and Charlotte each earned their roster spots and we are so incredibly proud of them.
