Isobel Munday: Fifth in the Class of 2016

“I feel so lucky to be sad about leaving [SHA]” were the words of Isobel Munday, who is one of the hundred plus seniors graduating from Sacred Heart this  school year. She has left a memorable mark on the SHA community and will be missed immensely.

Isobel has attained the outstanding achievement of being ranked fifth in her graduating class of 2016 along with fellow senior, Mitali Banerjee. Isobel contributed to the SHA community by dedicating her time and efforts to Peer Connection, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Science National Honor Society, and the school musical Annie.

While at SHA, Isobel has come to feel that this small community is more like a second home to her than a school. She is very grateful for the teachers, faculty, and students that supported her and helped her develop into a strong SHA woman.

At SHA, Isobel was faced with the arduous mission of following the path of excelsior, “ever higher.” This path challenged her to learn how to balance all responsibilities of a SHA girl, including her social life, school work, extracurricular activities, and, of course, sleep. By pursuing the excelsior mission, Isobel has learned two important lessons: To take risks and get out of your comfort zone without being reckless and not to stress about the things out of your control.

Next year, Isobel will be attending Boston University, where she will potentially double major in cognitive science and aerospace engineering. Isobel, I speak on behalf of the entire SHA community when I say this: Best of luck and we look forward to all the wonderful things you will accomplish in your future!
