Parade Pride for 70 Years of SHA

The Father’s Club helped to create an amazing float for the Columbus Day

This year is the first ever that Sacred Heart is putting a float in the Columbus Day Parade. This idea of having a float came from our very own Sister Mariette. Since Sacred Heart was founded by Italians and the parade celebrates Italian heritage, it made perfect sense that SHA would participate in this parade.

The plan was to have SHA girls walking in the parade with banners, but Mrs. Debbie Camner exclaimed, “Let’s just go big and build a float!” The float was built with the help of the Father’s Club and the Mother’s Club, as well as with the help of spirited SHA girls.

The float has a “70th Anniversary” theme and the colors are the traditional SHA red and white!  Our float is one of the biggest ones in the parade!

Unfortunately, the parade was canceled this year due to rain. Perhaps SHA can use the amazing float to participate in the parade next year.
