Senior Week Activities
As our seniors concluded their final year at Sacred Heart, they participated in the traditional senior week activities to make their final memories here truly special. Here is a recap of the special activities for our senior class:
Thursday: The last day of classes for the seniors! They elected Megan Gray as the crowner of the Blessed Mary at the 69th Sacred Heart May Crowning. The music and prayer were beautiful; they were a true reflection of Mary’s love for us.
Friday: The entire senior class, decked out in SHA uniforms decorated with the college they are attending in the fall, cheered on the oncoming cars that moved up the driveway. The girls were ready with cow bells, whistles, and, of course, their deafening screams. The seniors then came into the cafeteria for bagels and iced tea. At approximately 9:00, they sprinted through the hallways screaming at the top of their lungs, and then during break, they gathered in the cafeteria for pictures. Senior Megan Gray claims, “It was extremely fun, but I lost my voice for a few days!”
Monday: Graduation practice was held at 9:30 A.M.
Tuesday: On Tuesday, the seniors shared a breakfast with the sophomores and chatted as they munched on munchkins and bagels. The seniors handed back their laptops and attended the Honors Convocation at 7:00 P.M. There the seniors and select underclassmen received awards.
Wednesday: On Wednesday, the seniors attended graduation practice at 9:30 A.M. and received their caps and gowns. They also were inducted as alumnae of Sacred Heart and received their graduation tassels. The seniors later had dinner with the juniors and signed yearbooks.
Thursday: On Thursday, the seniors came in for graduation practice (yet again!) and then had a delicious ice-cream social with the freshmen. They all ate soft-serve cups of vanilla ice-cream with rainbow sprinkles and gummy bears.
Friday: The Baccalaureate Mass is a beautiful ceremony held at 7:00 P.M. in the Sacred Heart Chapel. Traditionally, this mass takes place the night before graduation.
Saturday: The Class of 2016 graduated in a beautiful ceremony in the gym!
